This archive is curated for long-term public discovery. All capsules are reviewed before sealing to protect the integrity of the archive.
Purpose of the Archive
Sealed Archive is a permanent public archive where people seal messages, images, recordings, and links for the future. Once sealed, capsules unlock at a chosen year and become publicly viewable forever.
This archive is designed to preserve what matters to people today, to be discovered by people tomorrow. It is built for permanence, discoverability, and historical value.
Why Review Exists
All capsules are reviewed before sealing to protect the integrity of the archive and ensure compliance with applicable laws. This review is brief and focused on clear violations of our policy.
Permanence applies only to content that qualifies to enter the archive. Rejected submissions are not stored in the archive and are fully refunded.
What Is Not Permitted
Illegal Content
Content that violates applicable laws, including but not limited to content involving sexual exploitation of minors, threats of violence, or illegal activities.
Hateful or Abusive Content
Content that promotes hatred, violence, or discrimination against individuals or groups based on protected characteristics.
Graphic Violence
Explicitly violent or graphic content intended to shock or harm.
Spam or Malicious Links
Spam content, malicious links, or content designed to deceive or harm.
What Is Permitted
Personal Messages
Messages to future selves, loved ones, or future generations. Emotional, reflective, or personal content is welcome.
Political Views
Political opinions, historical records, or commentary on current events. The archive preserves diverse perspectives.
Historical Records
Documentation of events, experiences, or moments in time. Images, recordings, or written accounts of significance.
Creative Works
Art, writing, music, or other creative expressions meant for future discovery.
Review Process
When you submit a capsule, it enters a brief review process. Most capsules are reviewed within 24-48 hours. If your capsule is approved, it is sealed and becomes permanent. If rejected, you will receive a full refund and an explanation.
Rejected submissions are not stored in the archive. Your payment is refunded in full, and you may submit different content if you wish.
Post-Unlock Safety
In rare cases where unlocked content is found to violate archive policies or applicable law, it may be removed from public view. This is an exceptional measure reserved for clear violations that were not caught during initial review.
Hidden content remains logged internally for legal and archival purposes but is not displayed publicly. This protects the archive, payment processors, hosting providers, and institutional partners.
